Building Habitat Jaipur

In today’s world scenario, a vast majority of the construction activity is designed and even executed by people themselves to cover their needs for shelter. This process allows for a slow transformation of their houses into bigger and better ones, gradually incorporating spaces for income generation activities. It is also a system with deep understanding of local conditions, materials and techniques. The possibilities of incremental construction and design, though an abundantly visible phenomenon, are often not considered part of the architecture discipline.
Building Habitat Workshop is an exercise towards exploration of the dynamic equation of architecture with economic, social and physical aspects that shape a house and in collective process, a neighborhood as component of urban area.
